Cross Walk is a project about The Bible started in April 2023 that contains comics and resources. The goal of this project is to share God's Word and help you grow closer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! The comics have light-hearted jokes and the resources page is constantly growing with material. God's Word is the primary focus, while the illustrations and commentary are secondary. Praise God and enjoy!

What is The Rapture?

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 KJV 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

2 Thessalonians 2:1 KJV Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

The Rapture is a future event where Jesus comes back for His Bride a.k.a The Bride of Christ a.k.a The Church and takes them off of the earth before the wrath of God is poured out on the earth. These are born again, spirit-filled, Christians who are believers and followers of Jesus Christ. He will also take all of the children under the age of accountability from all around the world at the same time, regardless if their parents are followers of Him (Jesus) or not. There is no specific age mentioned in The Bible, but in my opinion I believe it's around age 15. The word Rapture is not found in the Bible, it is an English translation that comes from the Latin word raptus which means to snatch away or carry off. Even though the word itself isn't found in the Bible, the event itself is.

Be ready

Luke 12:40 KJV Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

Luke 17:34-37 KJV 34 I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. 35 Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 36 Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 37 And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.

Luke 21:36 KJV Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Mark 13:32 KJV But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

Matthew 24:36-44 KJV 36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left. 42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Matthew 25:1-13 KJV 1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. 13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

1 Thessalonians 5:2 KJV For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

Ephesians 5:27 KJV That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Revelation 3:16 KJV So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

We do not know the day or the hour that Jesus is coming to Rapture His Church, so we must always be ready! The parable about the virgins and the verses mentioning one person taken and the other left is a picture of The Church. Half of all of those who claim to be Christian will be left behind; either because they are fake believers who have not been filled with the Holy Spirit or they are living in compromise, choosing to go back to the sin of their past. Therefore keep your Spirit full by reading The Word of God daily, meditating on it and not practicing sin. If you're compromising often, you need to get the sin out of your life now! Jesus is coming back to save a spotless Bride from the tribulation, not a compromising Bride. This doesn't mean we have to be perfect, none of us are, but simply to live a life that is pleasing to God.

When will The Rapture occur?

The Rapture will take place sometime around the tribulation/great tribulation which is a 7 year period during which God pours out His wrath on the earth. The first 3.5 years has tribulation. The second 3.5 years has great tribulation.

There are 3 main views of The Rapture:

Pre-tribulation: Jesus Christ takes His followers off of the earth before the tribulation/great tribulation.

Mid-tribulation: Jesus Christ takes His followers off of the earth in the middle of the tribulation/great tribulation (3.5 years in).

Post-tribulation: Jesus Christ takes His followers off of the earth after the tribulation/great tribulation (after the 7 years).

I personally believe in a Pre-tribulation Rapture. No one knows the day or the hour, so regardless of which above view is correct, I do know for certain it will take place sometime around the 7 year tribulation/great tribulation period.
